There are specific provisions the the Nationalized Healthcare provisions in the Porkulus bill to "discourage experimental techniques" because they are not cost effective.

I assume this also means drug companies will be discouraged from inventing new products.

I’ve seen quotes of the Daschle that indicated that was the goal. Slow medical research of all types and particularly that for ‘hopeless’ cases.

In other words the govt will decide who lives and who dies.

In the UK, the people at NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence) determine not only the cost effectiveness of treating the elderly but also make decisions as to which experimental drugs and/or procedures will get funding and which won’t. Fun, huh?

Honey, the NICE people say “We’re sorry but you’re life is not worth saving, have a NICE day!”

(I’m not kidding about NICE. Look it up.)
