It's not necessarily physiologically impossible that it's Alfie's kid. But the people in the neighborhood all think the girl sleeps around. A lot. With her parents' knowledge and approval.

I suspect you're right. He doesn't have any of the usual signs of physical maturation that would indicate he could actually father a child. A very little boy is capable of having an erection and physically conducting the sex act, but that hairless child probably doesn't produce mature sperm.
