Carter was arrested Tuesday in the parking lot of the Super 8 Motel after she took $50 from an undercover informant in exchange for oral sex. In e-mails sent to an undercover sheriff's sergeant posing as an interested customer in the days before the sting, Carter wrote that intercourse would cost $100, according to copies of the e-mails.

According to sheriff's office reports, Carter sent one e-mail at 1:02 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6.: "I am at work and didn't get a chance to respond until now." Another message is sent at 9:07 a.m. Monday, well after school began for the day. She offers sex and suggests a time. There were 24 e-mails exchanged in all.

Is anyone else troubled by the police resources expended in these sting operations?

Why should she resign (or be fired)? She’s just practicing what the school teaches: there’s nothing wrong with being a bisexual sex worker. The problem is with the oppressive system that criminalizes her choices. And with the school district, of course, for not paying her more.
