I tried that first, and then changed my mind just before hitting ‘Post’. Maybe I was wrong to change it from the familiar and correct ‘he’s’.

“When are we going to be required to have his photo hanging in our home?”
Well, if it ever comes to that, hopefully we’ll get to pick the photo. My vote is for the one with the cigarette hanging out of his mouth. LOL!

My current faith lies that our sweet little hot governor is going to politely say NO to the federal handout of this porkulous bill for the most part, she may accept some only if its not a crackwhore bill that forces the state of Alaska to keep pumping money into.
My big wish is to see Alaska announce its 10th Amendment rights of sovereignty.

The opportunity for the filibuster evaporated with the Snow-Collins-Specter defection. I know you're in a big hurry, but I would prefer if you'd take a little extra time to mention 57 DEMOCRATS WHO VOTED WITH THE 3 RINOs.

Well, we found out Spector and Snowe’s pork this morning. That fancy new bullet train they couldn’t get passed last year. Just happened to fall into the stimulus plan they broke ranks and voted for.

Also....since it passed cloiture....it only needs 51 votes to pass the bill now....would need 12-13 Dems to vote no for this thing to be killed

I can’t imagine anyone sitting down and reading 1500 pages of legalese b*******.
The only thing worse that reading it is writing it. They must have hundreds of faceless drones churning out that garbage.
God help us.

Does the Senate still do a cloture vote that requires 60 to move to final vote? --
For this conference report, any senator can object to an agreement to vote at a time certain. That objection can be overcome with the passage of a "limit debate to 30 hours" cloture motion, which takes 60 senators in agreement in order to pass.
This "hold" of Corker's is, at most, a promise to object to a proffered unanimous consent agreement calling for a vote today or tomorrow. If Corker didn't object, some other GOP senator would have.

Ah, but there are seemingly endless ways to tie-up a bill in the Senate.
McConnell is a pretty shrewd parliamentarian.

I heard somewhere yesterday that he wanted to do the signing on prime time television. AND pre-empt 24 to do it.

Tennessee didnt get a lot of junk from the stimulus With the strings, er, uh, I mean ROPES Congress is attaching to everything they touch these days, our Senators and Congresscritters would be wise to avoid accepting anything from this Congress....accepting goodies with these thugs in charge could cost Tennessee a lot more than just money....

I hope Corker does two additional things with the bill. First I hope he posts a searchable text on the internet so that ALL Americans can at least get a look at everything in it.
Second, since Pelosi won't let her own people read it, he should have it copied and sent to each Democrat House member. If they each got a copy they couldn't use "I haven't been able to read it because Pelosi wouldn't give us a copy" as an excuse.

The idea that the bill containing so much pork is a stimulus bill certainly is fiction!
