I heard of someone’s network advocating a tax revolt. I understand they are talking about maybe refusing to pay taxes for six months or so. The problem is that with payroll deduction the government already has most of the taxes in the coffers and probably already spent.

A tax revolt cannot work. All the laws are stacked against it.

An armed rebellion also cannot work in these times.

But there are other ways. Martin Luther King did it.

A tax revolt doesn't mean advocating anything illegal. The power of the pocketbook is what scares them more than anything. It is up to the individual to decide at what level of income to live at. More is not always better. Starve the Beast, take control of your financial situation, kick back, relax and enjoy life.

Not if you owe money....

And I owe every year....

I'd guess it wouldn't take more than a million like minded folks doing a little of their own "withholding" to get the Feds attention.

What are they going to do.....put a million tax-paying people behind bars?

Bring it on!!

“The problem is that with payroll deduction...”

I’m self employed so I have the terminology wrong here, but they could change their w-2 withholding “number”. I remember changing mine when I got my first house. Everyone can ammend theirs to the highest number possible. The feds would still get FICA, but not much withholding.
