Glenn Beck is just trying to stir up ratings. There will be no revolution. Americans simply do not have the stomach for it anymore, and the federal government is simply too powerful to defeat in a military confrontation.

We need to come up with real solutions to take back the reigns of power in Washington not indulge ludicrous fantasies about a second American Revolution.

and the federal government is simply too powerful to defeat in a military confrontation.

Speaking on a purely hypothetical basis, the government seems to have great difficulty against local insurgencies aka fourth generation warfare

Weren't many people saying the same thing back in the 1770's in regard to the British military forces in the American colonies?

and what would those solutions be? Or do we just hope and pray that with that 4.5 Billion ACORN and Soros don't buy the next election too. Hope and pray that they don't stop denying medical care to elderly and anyone with what they consider a terminal illness. Quite frankly I would rather die than live like that.

“the federal government is simply too powerful to defeat in a military confrontation.”

The gov’t has no power at all if the military simply decides to not participate in quashing a rebellion.

I have feeling that the reason guns are going off the shelf is more than the just the fear that Obama is going to try and take them away. People are preparing for something.

Go ahead and believe that americans dont have the stomach! I live in the south, and you can take it to the bank that if the government starts trying to grab guns, especially from this administration, there will be a revolt!!

You are right about the size of government. I am for letting Texas secede from the union. Louisiana, Oklahoma can join us then we can tell the rest of the nation to screw off. All good conservatives are welcome to join us. We can put up a big wall and soon we will be the richest most productive nation on earth.

There is an old saying: "Revolutions are Born when the Trains don't run on time."

It will astonish you how fast Revolt can take hold.

Your wrong on both counts. I guess back in the day the British Army looked too powerful also but a “ragtag” Contintental army fighting with the right tactics won

OK. So, how can we help you cave so as to avoid confrontation? I mean, if the feds are that powerful what makes you think they’ll ever listen to you, so why are you here and not thinking of clever things to do to support them? If can’t beat them, join them, right?

I would not be so sure about that..There is a simmering anger out here and I do think there will be a revolution of some kind. I was thinking about this obscene stimulus thing..lets get the total of it, then find out all the places that are going to get this so called money bailout..then if it is a program we don't want our tax dollars to be applied to, determine the % of that particular category and deduct that from our income tax so that our money goes where WE want it to go.

Are you sure?

People like Adams and Jefferson amongst others were very reluctant for revolution for a long time. It took many repeated ‘Injuries’ of many kinds to get them to move forward. They too often spoke of the unbeatable power of England as a sobering reason to do nothing.

Americans now are suffering repeated ‘Injuries’ by our govt like never before in history.

Though it doesn't look like we will do anything, rebellion is in our blood and heritage, and we've sat at the dinner table too many nights angered by what our govt is doing to us!

May I suggest watching the DVD John Adams Miniseries, and reading the book. The only account I know of the first 50 years of our history in proper context for a true understanding of our countries birth. Many people then were no more motivated to do anything about King George than we are now with our govt.

What I see as appropriate for now in the 21st century is a Nationwide Tax revolt. Perhaps an organization like Human Events, or the Heritage Foundation would start a National Tax Revolt movement, maybe build it up like the NRA, as tax ‘Injuries’ are Federal and Statewide. There are multiple tax revolts occurring in California right now. Search the KFI 640 John & Ken page for a look at the ‘Head On A stick Campaign’.

***There will be no revolution. Americans simply do not have the stomach for it anymore, and the federal government is simply too powerful to defeat in a military confrontation.

Too powerful?

The federal government can't even balance a simple check book, create a common sense budget, are unable to protect and secure it's own borders, and can't even respond to a natural disaster without appearing completely incompetent.

And what will American grown despots use to keep its citzen’s in line? Certainly not a volunteer army that they couldn’t trust not to mutiny when told to shoot Americans.

Short of nuclear black-mail, the beltway folks could do little to stem a restive population from asserting their
rights. I suspect in the end that’s what would happen, a few tactical nukes used in the less “desirable regions” to cow the rest of the nation into order...Ayres would get his wish to have about 25 million Americans killed!

The will when the economy tanks and "goes Argentina," and their somachs are EMPTY.

and the federal government is simply too powerful to defeat in a military confrontation.

Who said anything about defeating it? BTW, look at how powerful the USSR's military was compared to its population. Yet when their economy collapsed in 1990, that unpaid out of gas military was helpless to prevent the breakup of the USSR.

I'm not so sure about that.

It's my opinion that many in the military might come over to out side.
In addition, this wouldn't be a set piece confrontation.
Hit and run, snipers everywhere, merge back into the population, etc.

I'm not so sure the military would win a struggle against the American people.
