I heard today on conservative talk radio (Rush? Hannity?) that during the depression a number of laws passed by the US Congress were determined by the SCOTUS to be unconstitutional because they were outside the scope of powers dictated to the congress in the constitution. I haven't researched this yet, but it was also mentioned that FDR got pissed when major parts of his "New Deal" got scrubbed. I've put this on my 'to do' list, just as soon as I finish the 'honey do' list ;).

By 1937 the Court reversed course, caved, and stopped over-ruling New Deal Legislation.
The court did throw out the NRA Codes (National Recovery Act) codes. Of course that was before 1937.
If this interests you I highly recommend the book “The Forgotten Man, A New History of the Great Depression” by Amity Schlaes.

Yep and that’s ultimately why he “packed the court” and why we currently have 9 members (of course they all supported him)!

Seems to me that I remember from U.S. history that FDR attempted to keep appointing justices to the supreme court in excess of the 9 so he could get a majority to go along with him. That got shot down also.
