I can't click the link. It appears though that you seem to be saying that her son and she have been asking for charity for several years.

Be that as it may, it's dumb politics and it's just stupid to waste our time criticizing those private citizens who ask for help. And while these people may think their only option is to ask people for assistance and it may appear they're milking the system, I have no doubt these people are miserable inside and I also know begging is not as profitable as getting a real job, in spite of popular belief.

If someone asks for help and I can give it, I probably will (being that it is not actual money in most cases). If I can't, I'll politely say I'm unable to help, but I'm not going to judge the person asking for help. It's unchristian for me to do otherwise. If these people are really not in need, then it's their conscience, not mine.

They are scammers, IMHO. I have heard many sob sories and gotten burned often enough, I verify facts first. No money is given or anything that could be turned into cash. food will be given or directions to a shelter that will help them if they want help.
