Henrietta Hughes was offered a home by Chene Thompson, wife of State Representative Nick Thompson, who heard the homeless womans pleas for help to President Obama before a local and national crowd.
The house is in LaBelle, the first home [Chene] Thompson bought after law school. She told Hughes, Just give me the opportunity to help you.
Hughes broke down in front of thousands when she told the president that she and her son have been homeless for more than a year. They are living in a pickup truck.

I’ve been to Florida many times and been thru Labelle many times. If you get a house that has been sitting awhile get the exterminator working overtime! They call ‘em palmetto bugs, but they are cockroaches to everyone else.
Isnt it great to live in that Savior Based Economy, instead of that stupid old Market based one?
I can’t speak to her case but I’ve had experiences at work that lead me to believe that some folks are too “busy” to fill out their paperwork. “Do I have to sign all these papers? Can’t you just give it to me?”
A “homeless” person is not only at the Obama Lovefest but gets called on to ask a question? And then she is offered a free house? If you believe this BS, you’ve been hitting the old bonger a little too hard. Like the current “financial crisis,” this crap was staged by the Obamacorns.
you’re probably right on the money..she’ll expect everything to be paid for her cause she ain’t workin and stuff..then she’ll complain when power, water, gas etc. gets cut off..
I’m ancient enuff to remember that one.
At least the tax payers didn’t pay for it.
We’re a bit low on toilet paper and beer.
anyone in the know...what are the tax ramifications of this transaction/gift?
Bravo!
There are so many empty houses in Ft. Myers, they practically have to pay people to live in them to keep them safe. She could share a 3/2 with two other single parents for about $200 per month. She gets food stamps and adc..she could afford that.

Probably just a coinkydink.
Hmmm..I smell a set-up
You saying the messiah set this up? Off to the re-education camp with you!
Remember when Oprah gave out new cars to her entire audience? Nobody told them they would have to pay taxes on that gift............LOL!

and then I stole his song."

Great! Now several thousand parasite scumbags will be PO’d when they DON’T get a house.
I agree this just doesn’t ring true to me. With all the welfare programs, etc. this woman has plenty of nets here to fall in. This is either an orchestrated plant even though she did look sincere. There is no reason for all the taxes that we all paying to fund situations like this that this woman and her son should be living in a truck. If thats the case where is all this bucking Farrack taxes going to if they can’t even put a roof over a old woman’s head.
In the few minutes I got to watch that fiasco I noted at least two people reading scripted questions ("given that you inherited this crisis...") and everyone applauding their performance; I'd put the odds that this woman was a professional at about eleven to one.
From her grooming and clothes, to her patented closing plea for help, and adding Brother Hope's "we'll talk to you after the show" comment - this was a set up.
Someone needs to note the address for this 'free house' and keep tabs on what happens there over the next week or month. I'd almost guarantee that the only time Miz' Henrietta shows up will be for the photo opportunity.
(And, if she's riding in a pick up truck - it'll have government license plates.)
Just to be a contrarian, I have no idea if she will or can be responsible and pay her utilities, etc. I suspect she can’t but I don’t know her from a hill of beans, I just know she had some nerve asking the President for a house.
