Henrietta Hughes was offered a home by Chene Thompson, wife of State Representative Nick Thompson, who heard the homeless womans pleas for help to President Obama before a local and national crowd.
The house is in LaBelle, the first home [Chene] Thompson bought after law school. She told Hughes, Just give me the opportunity to help you.
Hughes broke down in front of thousands when she told the president that she and her son have been homeless for more than a year. They are living in a pickup truck.

“OK, next up is Bank of America or some Engineering firm offering McDonalds fry boy a management position.”
Or, in 1 year from now when you get laid off or your business vaporizes, you would be lucky to score the fry boy’s job at McDonald’s.
“She has her own web site.”
You can leave comments, too.
I refrained. I do not wish to go to jail.
Does no one perceive that this whole exhibition with Hughes is a setup from the git-go?
Mr. President Obama. First of all Praise all of the deities and angels for allowing you to gaze on me. My kitchen needs remodeling, I have an old gas stove and the table in the breakfast nook wobbles. I also have this rocking chair that I thought would be good, but it was on sale and its starting to crack, and this mattress is killing my back. Also, I cant find Liptons Cold Brew iced tea bags at Vons I have to go all the way to Target and they were sold out. Please help.
In the comments section someone posted a news story outta New York from 2004. Same scam. Got a house then, also. No link, but I am looking.
I never assume these events just happen. You may recall not too long ago, during the min wage dustup, that there was a waitress quoted in two separate Driveby news stories about a month apart. Turned out the waitress was a member of the local Democrat party and also of a local advocacy organization. I'll lay odds this event was a setup. But, of course, the Drivebys won't be curious.
Someone is way ahead of me. Hope this gets to Rush, Beck,Hannity, etc.

I would feel like a prophet, except I've seen this same Democrat scam too many times before to even think about taking credit for anything more than justifiable suspicion.

I sent it to the local rag, which is going out of business and asked them to do some real investigative reporting instead of humping obama’s leg. (that’s the way I wrote it, too). I won’t hold my breath.
LOL! I'm going to remember that riposte and use it sometime! Perfect way to put it.
I canceled my subscription to them long ago, so I don’t have any influence on them. I like to tweak their noses, though.
Yes, I remember.
Funny, listening to Rush yesterday on the Henrietta Hughes segment, that show was my first thought.
I thought Rush could have a parody called “Welfare Queen for a Day!”
Turns out mother and son are pros at this. Who’d have thunk it?! /s
i once slept in my car for nearly a year when i was in high school. the wendy’s that i worked at paid for my gas, insurance, food, and senior dues.
luckily, i had a bathroom. the showers that i took after practice or a ymca. i had a kitchen. the food that i stocked in my car.
i can’t really chastise henrietta hughes. the government helped me, too. tax dollars paid for it. i joined the marines. they got me into a house. va loan...
the burger slinger asked about further education as a full-time worker. i got a better job and education with the government. i got my degree working full-time as a lead slinger.
i feel guilty. i have the same (or better) rewards as the mentioned. all i had to do was sign a few years of my life away and serve my country. i never had to relinquish my pride and beg the president.
This statement is not entirely accurate. The wait list for HUD is over two years (at least in the area I live in).
they will likely be back in a truck in a year and the house will be trashed
Sorry, her story has fallen apart big time. I stand by what I said. The story never passed the smell test, IMHO.
