Professors and other libs are intimated by vets....Most vets I dealt with are just fine and can transition relativity easily. A few cannot and those are the ones I will guide to some kind of help.

What a load of crap. Any veteran that finds school tougher than the service in any way must have had one cushy job. School, even graduate school is a freaking vacation compared to most active duty jobs.

When numbers of veterans arrive on a campus, they are usually not the ones that require adjustment.

Veterans do not appreciate being lied to by self-important academic blowhards. Worse is when their honorable service is demeaned and despised by ivory tower nincompoops. This can make them somewhat “peeved”.

What makes them “upset” is individual. I remember one veteran whose English class was told by a graduate student instructor, that “the only reason women join the military is because they are lesbians.”

He was “upset”. Fortunately, he was directed to the assistant dean of the Liberal Arts college, who in his former life had worn two sets of wings, and within a day that graduate student instructor had vanished to never be heard from again.

Veterans do tend to stick together, even if separated by 40 years in time.
