If one looks at reality rather than democrat nonsense, the facts are that Bush was reelected and got to complete his most important policies. Those would be the WOT and his tax cuts. The democrats barely laid a glove on him. And despite Bush’s more recent unpopularity and the economic crisis, McCain almost beat Obama to boot.

Bush’s foreign policy was a dramatic success. His tax cuts were a domestic success.
The spending and bailout were not.

I want to send him a nice note... thanking him for what he did. Anyone know how to figure out where to send it?

God Bless you GW. For all your detractors and those that were mentally challenged with BDS, the difference between you and Zero is stunning. You were and are a giant compared to the empty suit that sits at the great desk you once worked at. My family and I miss you.

Thank you for posting that. We're still far too close to the thing to make an objective appraisal of the Bush administration but Mr. Howard certainly carries a very great deal of credibility in the matter.
The Democrats have grandly declared domestic policy to be their bailiwick and have moved with great dispatch to take advantage of what appears to be not much worse than a looming recession in order to advance the reach of government. As a consequence their foreign policy, never a strong point, now takes on the grotesque superficiality of a Punch and Judy show. It does not bode well for our allies, because Obama takes them for granted in a doomed effort to make our enemies our friends. Things are about to get much worse with respect to American foreign policy, I fear, and the international press will be doing its best to mask the damage as it did in the days of Carter. This could be a very bumpy ride ahead of us.

If Oz shared a terranian border with all of Indonesia like we do with Mexico, he'd realise how miserably Bush failed "to protect his country when it is under attack."
From another major attack by Islamo-facists, yes, but not from the daily criminal and/or socio-economic attack by an illegal alien horde Bush welcomed with open arms.

>>>>>Harry Trumans approval ratings were similar to those of Bush, when the former ended his presidency in 1952. Yet history now judges Truman to have been a very successful president. Most historians are liberal. I doubt they'll be willing to revise the record on Dubya and publicly recognize the success of his foreign policy in the WOT.
Thank you Mr. Howard.

I wrote just as he left the WH and sent it to The Bush Crawfor Ranch. I looked up the zip code for Crawford and sent it care of the post office and I guess it got delivered as it has not come back.
Do a google on Crawford. It is a cool place, friendly in the bargin.

Excellent article. It's a damn shame the way President Bush is disrespected in his own country. There was a lot I didn't agree with him on, but when it came to the security of this Nation, he did his job and he did it well.
And as an aside, the Huffington Post can kiss my ass. If the Liberals think they're going to publicly humiliate this honorable man in one of their mock courts, there'll be a revolution yet in this country, and it won't be pretty...
