When Obama screws up, SNL will be the first ones to point it out...well before the MSM. Some would argue that their Al Gore cost him the election.
The Saturday Night Live people would never have the guts to satirize Obama, not until his popularity dips low enough (think near-impeachment). However, from what I have seen on the few occasions when I have been visiting with friends who insist on watching the show, the show is simply unfunny, regardless of who they are trying to make fun of. They are agonizingly, embarrassingly unfunny. Even the studio audience fails to laugh most of the time. It is painful to watch.

I think you’ll be surprised. They made fun of Clinton before he got in office, and never relented. The hard thing with Obama is that he really doesn’t give them much to go on...but the moment he does, they’ll be all over it. Regardless of his popularity.

Didn’t even realize he was from Canada. See? I never knew much about him. I think he tries to be like others who ARE funny. Humor is one thing but at the expense of someone else...it says more about the person who is TRYING to be funny than the person they are making fun of. John Candy...now there was a very humorous person with a kind heart and I don’t recall him using that kind of bad humor against anyone. If he made fun of anyone it was himself. He is truly missed, was very funny and just had a loveable face and manner. Now HE was a pro that this will character should try to emulate. Filth can come out of anyone’s mouth or skit...but it takes REAL TALENT to be the caliber of a John Candy. Rest his soul. Miss, miss, miss him but...watch his movies over and over again.

It was filmed in Florida by a Canadian production company.

Are you kidding me? Obama is chock full of ridiculousness that could be made fun of. The man is goofiness and inexperience personified. They won't do it for two reasons: Obama is much more aggressive in punishing news media and Obama is black. Period.
However, if the day ever comes when they do have the guts to make fun of him, I guarantee they will be unfunny. They always are these days.

Sounds typical of Will Ferret’s level of humor. Very funny to 7th graders.

We went on the Web and got a penis. I suspect they're lying. It's either Ferrell's or someone else involved with the production that is an exhibitionist. Haven't read anything to confirm this, but it's what I think. Somebody is getting a charge out of going (cue Hollywood Knights theme) "My D!ck! My D!ck! Is in the punch!"

No, I’m not kidding, and I think you are wrong. David Patterson is black and they were brutal to him. Since when does SNL worry about getting punished? They don’t. They offend both sides. It just so happens that an R has been in office for 8 years, so it looks like they’ve been extra tough on us. But they will go after Obama hard...they are just waiting for him to show a weakness. I can’t think of how they could go after him...he’s not like Clinton. Clinton had many places to go...bimbos, always flirting, the bossy wife...I really don’t see a place that would be funny to play up on Obama. Remember, it has to be funny.
To: MNnice
Me either. I’m not saying that because of this but I absolutely hate him. He’s NOT funny. He ruins anything he is in. I stopped going to anything he is in.

If you can't see how Obama is ripe for parody, then I think you might be a little too in awe of the guy. He has had far more gaffes than Dan Quayle and look what they did to him. One look at Obama and his wife just screams for a Sanford and Son parody, but they won't have the guts, not until Obama is a national laughing stock. Think about this: what was there to make fun of really, with George W? He misspoke all the time and said "nukular", but other than that he was a pretty straight-forward guy, no bimbos, his wife was a lady, he didn't have any personal scandals, yet virtually every single SNL I saw during his presidency had at least one skit devoted to making fun of him. If you're going to try to say that Obama doesn't have at least as much to make fun of as Bush, then you're kidding yourself. The only time they'll ever poke fun at Obama, it will be in an endearing way, not a parody. Even the Clinton jokes were more of a "laughing with you" kind of thing, where Clinton was just a loveable scamp. They never questioned his intelligence or competence. It will be the same x10 with Obama.
And this is SNL, so it won't be funny either way. Guaranteed.

I’m in awe of the guy? No. You don’t know me, but if you did, you’d know that I do not like him. I had hopes that he’d truly pull this country together, but in less than 2 weeks, he’s proven that he is more interested in rewarding those that got him elected than doing what is best for this country. Regarding Clinton...SNL was brutal to him. I remember an early skit where Phil Hartman played him (beautifully, I might add), and Jan Hooks played Hillary. The police showed up at their house, and he had a busted lip. It was funny, and it painted the Clintons as hillbillies that had a horrible marriage. Regarding Bush, I’ll disagree with you. I voted for the guy, and I think he did a good job as President, but he did give people alot of areas to poke fun at him. Yes, Obama has made some gaffes, but what President or political figure hasn’t? That, in itself, isn’t enough to make a parody. He will do something really stupid, and like a pitbull, SNL will be there to make fun of it. If you truly believe that SNL will lay low for 4 years because he’s “their guy”, then you obviously haven’t watched the show before.

I'll believe it when I see it, and not before.
