Obama puts brake on Afghan surge

PRESIDENT Barack Obama has demanded that American defence chiefs review their strategy in Afghanistan before going ahead with a troop surge.
There is concern among senior Democrats that the military is preparing to send up to 30,000 extra troops without a coherent plan or exit strategy.
The Pentagon was set to announce the deployment of 17,000 extra soldiers and marines last week but Robert Gates, the defence secretary, postponed the decision after questions from Obama.

Hussein has ruled that the term "WOT" is NOT to be used. It's much, much too politically incorrect and much too insensitive.
And anyway, he's too busy with WOC (War on Capitalism) to be bothered with the WOT right now.
Obama is one of the brilliant military minds of our time. His vast military experience provides him great insights on strategy and tactics.

The War on Terror is becoming this generation’s Viet Nam. I’m in Afghanistan right now, and the boots-on-the-ground troops want to win, and we could easily if we were allowed to, but the “leadership” won’t let us.

I think that during the debates, in an effort to counter the fact McCain was right about the surge in Iraq, the messiah was merely piping up with
“I have a surge too!”
Remember that within 2 weeks of zerO’s inauguration here, the Russians bought-off Kyrgyzstan to close a key air base we were using there to ship supplies through to landlocked Afghan operations.

I notice the Russians feel free to do as they please all over the world. It is obvious they do not respect Obama and do not see him as being able to do anything to curb their plans.
I suspect the KGB has a thick dossier on Obama and Putin is willing to use it against him if he gets uppity with them and stops being a useful tool.
A president whose supporters will spend over $1 million in legal fees to hide his birth certificate - is eminently blackmailable.

“Yes he was calling for a “surge in Afghanistan”.”
He was calling for that sure in Afghanistan to protect the poppy crop, not the soldiers that are fighting against the Taliban.
