MUNICH – NATO's top official chastised Germany and France for refusing to commit more troops to Afghanistan, but the two European powers skirted the issue Saturday even while agreeing that Washington should not be left to fight international conflicts alone.

Vice President Joe Biden came to the Munich Security Conference amid expectations he would forcefully repeat President Barack Obama's calls for greater European troop deployments in Afghanistan, as Washington prepares to double American troops there to roughly 60,000.

But Biden kept his Afghan comments general in an apparent attempt to avoid a public dispute among allies.

Having lived in Germany for fifteen years....I can offer this judgment on Germany expanding in Afghanistan. ZERO percent chance.

The Greens and SPD both have made exiting Afghanistan a major priority. In recent weeks, there’s been continual articles about German troops returning to the country with war stress. The public gets a dose of this catastrophic problem with German troops on a nightly basis with the state-run news channel. So any discussion about expanding...will be mostly laughed at.

I doubt that anyone in the German government takes Biden serious in his statements.

Clinton closed a bunch of bases in Germany during his term, and I imagine that hurt the local German economies pretty hard. They might be saying "you closed the bases and hurt our economy, and NOW you want our help?".

And why is Biden doing all of this, I thought this sort of stuff was done by the Secretary of State or the President...Biden, what a dkhead.

With communists now running the US, the war in Afghanistan will increasingly become something similar to the 1970s-80s Soviet occupation of Afghanistan. Increasingly, our troops will be required to spread Marxism hither and yon.

This is why I am now personally opposed to our presence there and in Iraq too. Our volunteers did not sign up to be an occupying expansionist Marxist force—which has already been routed out of Afghanistan once before by an invigorated mujahadeen and will be again when it comes down to it.

As an American I obviously depise the militant jihadi movement but, let’s face it: on the battlefield, the jihadi zealot just kicks uninspired commie butt. (Always has, always will.) And that’s what our forces are sure to eventually become under Comrade Secretary General Obama, who will slowly but surely turn real soldiers into unmotivated servants of the atheist State.

You and I might see the US military and all its honor and glory. Comrade Obama sees the expeditionary tools of his budding communist regime.

So, I say—

Out of Afghanistan & Iraq NOW!

(just like it says on “their” bumper stickers—Obama Lied, Men Died)

Way back in the last century while I was serving a total of nine years in the BRD I was told their constitution forbid stationing the army on their own border much less in another country. Can you shed any light on that?
