Better to go direct to the staff. Picture this, the mail room boy gets your email and goes to the Staff Adm with a print out and says”..I know you are busy but what is this” He gets yelled at and takes a copy home and sends to his friends,parents—now thats better.
That is why I suggest putting your request in the fields they offer and at the top of the letter.
If they they see the subject matter and your request, ie STIMULUS BILL - VOTE NO, they don't need to read further to understand your bottom line.
I agree with contact them directly.
My advice was designed to make it easy for anyone to do something without personal interaction. Some people are intimidated, speaking with others and a letter is easier.
Still, I contacted every Senator twice with a brief phone call, email and post at their website. For my senators Bhye, Collins, Snowe and Spector they they where contacted 5 times using each method. I felt it was important to make my opinion known and with Spector I had some hope that he was the weakest in his commitment.
Alas, we are screwed and I have figured out how they will pay for this piece of crap. The real spending does not begin until next year for the StickItToUS Bill. Guess what will disappear next year? That's right the tax cuts of GW. Yep, you can bet there will be no renewal and maybe a slight increase as well.
They will pitch as necessary to support the Stimulus Bill. Mr. and Ms. American, how do you think we are going to get the money? In fact, we are going to ask you to step for America with small increase in your taxes, For The Greater Good. You are Patriotic aren't you? Like you will have a choice. They will get the money out of your paycheck before you get it. So count on less money in your pocket beginning next year.
