Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger named Karen Douglas the new chair of the California Energy Commission on Thursday.
Douglas, 34, has served on the commission since last year.
Before that, she was the director of the California Climate Initiative at Environmental Defense.
A Democrat, she'll earn $132,179.
The position requires Senate confirmation.

Here we are sitting on the Mother Load of energy and the clowns in Sacramento are too dumb to realize it!
We could be building cogeneration nuclear power plants offshore that would not only generate electricity but desalinate ocean water that would provide water & electricity for the entire state and beyond and water to irrigate the entire CA desert for farming. And lets not forget about all the oil & gas offshore and onshore...hell we could provide energy for North, Central & South America and jobs, jobs, jobs not to forget royalties for every Californian! But noooooooooooo we've got a bunch of morons in Sacramento who are dumb as dirt who don't have a clue what to do...a bunch of Socialist jerks who are only interested in getting reelected and feeding off the taxpayers...out of a state of 30 million people, you'd think we could find 30 conservatives who could/would run for state office and help turn this whole mess around...anyone? anyone? Ferris?

One of Obama’s appointees, Doerr, has argued in favor of a massive diversion of taxpayer dollars to green tech. In March 2007, Doerr gave a speech at the TED conference approvingly citing Al Gore’s views on global warming. “I’m really scared—I don’t think we’re going to make it,” Doerr said. “There is a time when panic is the appropriate response. And we’ve reached that time.”
Three years ago, Kleiner Perkins created a $100 million green tech fund, which has invested in technologies including solar cells, fuel cells, smart grid, ethanol, and synthetic fuels. Not-so-coincidentally, Doerr has lobbied for laws at the state level—and, more recently, as part of the “stimulus” proposal—that would benefit his portfolio by moving toward smart grid, solar, and other technology.
I'm still waiting for him to blow up the one he created... The Sierra-Nevada CONservancy box!!! It both blows and sucks just like the Schwartzenrenegger maladministration!!!
