Well, as bad as this bill is, it isnt a ban on all weapons.
Yes it is. They will keep upping the paperwork requirements and audit you till they find a minor goof, then offer you amnesty and a suspended sentence if you turn all your guns in and consent to a search. Not the first year, but maybe year ten.
Think England, Australia, Scotland, that was the technique.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I'll fight this crap tooth and nail. There is, in fact, no other issue that I put before the second amendment. I think that any political party that initiates a complete ban on weapons such as you are discussing will quickly find itself unemployed because there's always an election 2 years away and Americans won't have it. What's more, I don't think cops will enforce laws such as that in rural areas because, at the end of the day, they have families that they want to go home to and see. The fact is, the Democratic scum bags that currently enjoy power are only in their current position because America felt she needed to purge Washington and when America cleans house, she doesn't f**k around as we have seen; however, The Democrats can just as easily find themselves on the receiving end of America's wrath. There are, after all, only two choices to choose from. Then there's the supreme court issue. The Supreme Court has stated that the 2nd amendment applies to individuals. Any law that outright bans weapons will be unconstitutional such as the New Jersey ban bill that's been proposed. New Jersey is going to spend millions of dollars to pass a law that is blatantly unconstitutional. It will be struck down and our position will be stronger as a result of it. They can and probably will try. I think they'll fail and I think they'll pay a political price for it as America corrects itself in 2010 and 2012. If I'm wrong, well...we'll cross that bridge if and when we get to it.
