ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - Lawyers for Democrat Al Franken told Minnesota's highest court Thursday that he should be certified as the winner of his tight Senate race with Republican Norm Coleman without waiting for the outcome of his rival's legal challenge.

Where is Al Franken? He claims to have won an election in Minnesota.
But that’s not what a local reporter says. Al has been spotted in Florida:
Make that since anyone in Minnesota has seen Franken. That was the day he proclaimed victory after the Canvassing Board certified his 225-vote win. He took no questions after his brief statement, only to disappear behind the façade of his downtown Minneapolis townhome. Since then we have been told he has been hanging out in Florida while the rest of us, pardon my French, have been freezing our butts off.
When pushed, the Franken campaign said that he came up to DC for an interview:
UPDATE: The Franken Campaign says Franken has been accessible, they say Franken sat down for interviews with both the Star Tribune and the Pioneer Press in Washington D.C. a week and a half ago.
Is that really their defense? He gave an interview to Minnesota media in DC?
Let’s all call the state party and ask where Joker Al Franken is right now. Their phone number is 1-800-999-7457. Let’s figure out where they are hiding Al.
The senate should send this skidmark back to St Paul instead.
The law is pretty clear on this. No cert can be issued until the lawsuits/election challenges are settled. Period.

Coleman needs to fight this and never concede. It is more a threat to this country that this kind of deliberate and systematic fraud on the part of these Demonrats succeeds. Franken did not win this election and Coleman needs to be the one to put an end to allowing this to be shrugged off. Never concede, even if they declare Franken the ‘winner’. What a joke this country has become with these thugs.

Looks to me like he understands he doesn't have a majority of the REAL votes and therefore his only chance is to bully his way in before they're counted.
Why he would think the court would be intimidated by him, I can't imagine.

It is the standard Democrat concept - They are the rightful Party to control all aspects of Government. They have a right to rule and anything that delays or prevents that is immoral, illegal or fattening! Stu Smalley has a right to be Minnesota’s Junior Senator even if his name is now Al Franken!
