The fact that she has had surgery to me means that they got the tumor before it spread. Some of you people act like nobody ever survives this. The reason it is usually fatal is because once you get symptoms it’s probably too late. A 1 cm tumor is small and depending on the type of tumor, very treatable.

Thank you for explaining the facts. I was too lazy to try.

very treatable....OTOH dad is recovering from pancreatitis....a very mild case. He had been in excellent heath until he became ill. He had a stomach tub for 6 months....Lost considerable weight....Is extremely tired...fought off merca and pneumonia.....and is still unable to be up a full day........

That was all without surgery, and without any type of radiation or chemo treatment......How will she ever be able to continue her work on the court?

Sorry, but "very treatable" is a term used with this tumor VERY rarely. Here's some data from England, whuch should not differ much from here:

Pretty grim.

Her situation is not just that of the ordinary person being diagnosed at what amounts to a very early stage; there is a better than even chance that the tumor presented through scans as a stage 0 or 1 are due to a phenomenon known as recurrent cancer either spread from the original colon cancer or from an adjacent site.

Once established in the body cancer cells virtually lurk there as though waiting on a vulnerable organ to appear.

Patients who die undiagnosed are more often listed as having died from liver failure unless there is some reason to explore the pancreas through thorough autopsy.

As a figure of significant note, it will be paramount that she receive the best of care and the least negative publicity; the less ill we speak of her, the better we speak of ourselves.

Unfortunately most surgery for pancreatic cancer involves diverting the bile ducts blocked by the tumor for comfort and palliation only. Pancreatic cancer is as close to a death sentence as you can get.
The pancreas is not an organism encased with a wall, so any tumor in the pancreas has already “spread” by definition. The only cures would either be miraculous, or a cure because surgery was done for some other unrelated reason and a tumor was accidentally removed and discovered on path. By the time you have symptoms, its all over but the shouting.

(I dont mean to be insensitive to those who have family members with pancreatic cancer, but I did want to set the record straight) I too will pray for her despite the harm she has done our country. I hope her end is peaceful and she learns to trust Christ before it is too late.

Good thing she hung in there until after the election. There is little doubt that she knew about the diagnosis and possible surgery before the election.
