Wilson Exclusive: Kilpatrick's Costly Charter [Kwame Kilpatrick coming to Texas]
WXYZ.com ^ | Feb. 4, 2009 | Steve Wilson

Posted on 02/04/2009 5:06:43 PM PST by Al B.

WXYZ) It’s a question being asked all over town: who paid for that chartered jet to fly former mayor Kwame Kilpatrick to Texas shortly after he got out of jail yesterday?

.
.
[SNIP]
.
.
But now, Action News has confirmed it: the former mayor’s mother, Congresswoman Carolyn Cheeks-Kilpatrick says she paid for the charter flight. Told we were prepared to reveal it here on Action News, she issued this statement that says simply: “I was proud to pay for my son’s flight to begin a new life in Texas.”

As we reported last night, last December the former mayor’s wife and children moved into this home in affluent Southlake, Texas, paying $3,000 a month.

But Kilpatrick’s right to travel here as a convicted felon now on probation was granted not so he could start a new life but for a job interview.

Look for Kwame to end up in the Dallas Metroplex working for a major company that has taken bailout money.

You heard it here. I can say no more.

Is this a great country or what?

Is Ron Kirk behind this development? (or Ron’s wife?)

Kwame’s next home is likely to be in the federal pen for the whole Synagro bribery case. The Feds are hot on his trail, hence his desire to get out of town quickly. It should also be noted that the Mexico border is close to his desired new home.

Kwame Kilpatrick/Former Detroit Mayor: We’re planning on living here. We’re excited about this wonderful new opportunity in our lives. We’re just ready to start it.

Southlake, Texas huh? I’ve just never understood why these Democrats, especially minority ones, want to live amongst those evil, right wing, racist, hatemongering, gun-toting, church-going conservative Republicans. Can’t be the schools, right? I mean, we all know liberals know how to run public school systems much better, right? Can’t be because of the lack of “diversity” can it? I mean, come on . . .

Oh great...we don’t have enough ex-cons in Texas so we have to import this fat loser from Detroit. I think he will have a very rude awakening if he tries to pull his tricks on the cowboys in Ft. Worth.

How did you like the deal the ruling class set up with him?

Peasants like you and me go to Michigan prison for a felony, but "somehow" King Kwame got a short gig in jail.

Meanwhile, all the rubes were conned into thinking Kwame somehow "paid" for his numerous criminal acts.

The "justice" system, like taxes, is for the peasants.

Hard to believe somebody’s giving this lowlife crook a job interview the day after he’s released from jail. It shoulda been prison...

No doubt it was a fellow crook who is repaying Kwame's favors. Not to worry though - I suspect more indictments are in Kwame's future. He can run but he can't hide from the corruption he, his family and his fellow Detroit Pols perpetrated.

This reminds me of that fat cat donor who paid for John Edwards’ mistress.

The Dems are afraid of Kilpatrick. He knows the inside workings of their criminal organization. To keep him quiet a big Dem donor is paying his “keep” at Compuware and his luxury digs in the Texas suburbs. Probably pd for his private plane, too (his mom IS known to lie).

Either that, or there’s a spot in the bailout bill to repay Compuware. Makes one wonder when Blago will land a “terrific job” because he’s so “talented”.

Your observations mirror my thoughts as well. I'm just hoping Kwame is indicted in some of the current unfolding scandals. Hope this scoops up Monica Conyers as well.

Why, other than a payoff would anyone want this lowlife as a SALES Associate in their Company. Karmanos is either a fool or one of the Crooks. I vote for the latter.
