Bush did admit mistakes...mistakes like not fighting back hard enough and fast enough to the slander by the MSM and Democrats.

Bush admitted mistakes. What nonsense!

He just didn't have as many to admit to in eight years as Obama has in three weeks.

I believe the joyful contrasting of Barry’s willingness to say he made a mistake (via inappropriate slang terminology) to Bush refers to a particular set up the Dems tried to pull on Bush. I remember when it started, Nancy Pelosi went before the cameras to bait Bush by saying all anyone wanted is for Bush to admit he made a mistake - she kept it low key and almost chummy as if foregiveness and support would be his if he would just do this one small thing. The dems (including MSN) picked up the chant ‘admit it’ ‘admit it’ over the next several weeks...I think it went on for over a month. I was dismayed as the meme caught on - the man-on-the-street interviews (I know, they are often setups too) captured Americans wondering aloud why he would not do this - as if they believed that is ‘all’ the dems or anyone wanted.
When Bush did NOT cave into this touchy feely ‘all we want is an apology’ trap, the REAL agenda was unveiled, once again by Pelosi. She seemed exasperated as she lamented vigorously something like “WHY won’t he JUST admit HE MADE MISTAKES and then step aside and let us choose someone who IS ABLE to handle the office of POTUS competently!!!???” Bush saw the trap and avoided it - but the Dems had some sucess in portraying him as ‘too proud’ instead of too perceptive to fall into their trap. And now the dems continue to ‘craft’ history.....
