My wife and I are waiting for handgun purchase permits in NJ - by law they must approve or deny within 30 days. It’s been 8 weeks so far.

The law SHOULD be that the default outcome of an application is approval. That would put a burr under their saddle to get the work done!

“by law they must approve or deny within 30 days. Its been 8 weeks so far.”
So since they are not complying with the law, I assume they will face consequences/sarc

Hey whatexit move to Virginia!
We have a very active and quite successful gun rights group.
Virginia Citizens Defense League, Inc.
(VCDL). VCDL is an all-volunteer, non-partisan grassroots organization dedicated to defending the human rights of all Virginians. The Right to Keep and Bear Arms is a fundamental human right.
VCDL web page: http://www.vcdl.org
We have a processing time limit in the law too.
Miss the 45 day limit on process and they have to give you the permit.
