NBC might want to trot Matt Millen out in front of the cameras like nothing ever happened, but WDIV, NBC's affiliate in Detroit, isn't about to forgive or forget what he did to the Lions. From the Detroit Free Press: Every time a certain familiar face showed up on camera Sunday during NBC's Super Bowl pregame show, Channel 4 ran a scroll at the bottom of the screen: "Matt Millen was president of the Lions for the worst eight-year run in the history of the NFL.

It’s unreal that anyone wants to hear a thing this flop has to say on anything. He was the absolute worst. Sticking with him for 8 years was really stupid.
That’s the news media for you. Hiring losers to give commentary. They did it with George Steponallofus, Queef Ogreman etc.
Btw, talking about football, tomorrow is national LOI day for high schoolers to sign with colleges.

People in Michigan obviously lack sense. Kwame Kilpatrick and Gov. Granholm come to mind.
Every time Millen spoke, tony dungy and Mike holmgren looked over at him quizzically, as in “WTF are YOU doing here?”
Unfortunately, the real problem with the Lions is the front office, and always has been, from Russ Thomas to today. If they can’t see that, or refuse to acknowledge it, the Lions will forever be basement dwellers.

... agree with the last part. At some point the ownership of the team becomes the problem. Millen probably was a good lightning-rod & a useful fall-guy for ownership after a while. One wonders why Millen didn't just resign after say year 5. If your not improving by then pride should dictate that you leave.
I was always puzzled by Millen's draft picks. It seemed to run counter to everything he was as a player.
