Obama:'We’re suffering from a massive hangover’ Transcript of...Lauer’s exclusive interview....

MATT LAUER: I sat down with the president at the White House for a wide-ranging conversation. First up, the economy. After failing to win a single House Republican vote for his stimulus plan, I asked the president if he's worried about his promise to build bipartisanship in Washington.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Oh, listen, it's only been ten days. People have to recognize that it's going to take some time for trust to be built, not only between Democrats and Republicans but between Congress and the White House, between the House and the Senate. You know, we've had a dysfunctional political system for a while now.

MATT LAUER: You — you were pretty agitated this past week when the news broke of these Wall Street bonuses paid out in 2008 even as some of the firms that paid them out had their hands out looking for

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Right.

-snip-

PRESIDENT OBAMA: I do have confidence that we're gonna be able to get it right. But it's not gonna be overnight. And there's no silver bullets to this. The fact of the matter is, is that we are suffering from a massive hangover from a binge of risk taking.

MATT LAUER: And it's still getting worse.

PRESIDENT OBAMA: And that's still getting worse. And it's gonna take some time for us to be able to dig ourselves out of this hole.

-snip-

PRESIDENT OBAMA: Look, I'm at the start of my administration. One nice thing about — the situation I find myself in is that I will be held accountable. You know, I've got four years. And —

If I don't have this done in three years, then there's gonna be a one-term proposition.

Obama: ..."If I don't have this done in three years, then there's gonna be a one-term proposition."

Zero is already talking about being a one-term president. Obama is that the only reason that you may only do 4 years?

The massive hangover started on Nov 4th. Show us your non existent birth certificate so we can get off the sauce.

Looking forward to more smackdowns by military judges telling O to go F himself and The Joint Cheifs who are going to tell him we “ain’t” playing “catch and release” no more with Dear Leader’s relatives.

Who told this guy he gets 3 years? He thinks as long as it's better in 3 year he'll get re-elected.It's all he cares about and basically admits it here. No matter the suffering that happens in the meantime. It's all strategy. Hey, Mr. Change, maybe if you stopped campaigning for 2012 and started governing there wouldn't this “mistrust” you want to blame on others in the past. You're different. I'll give you that. You're way worse. Worse than Clinton; worse than Carter.

He’s already decided that this is WAY too much work for a Slacker like himself. He really doesn’t want to be bothered by the weights of the world and would probably just rather play b ball or work out. It’s a hard position to be in if one has had no disappointments in life or has never suffered a set back of any kind. He’s just green. I pray that he is a one termer or less.

Maybe it’s just me...

Why would anyone let a reporter lead him on to answering a question?

Journalism 101 teaches the reporter to TRY to lead a question.

Obama must have been out shooting hoops that day.

That’s another nightmare I have.

President Obama decides its a bit much work and he needs to spend more time with his family....and resigns.

Joe Biden becomes president.

Ruh...Roh

I've contemplated that myself. Biden makes it a week and Hillary is in charge.

These folks have no idea the hell it takes. They can sure dish it out yet seem to fold quickly under pressure. I call it the Peter Brady Principal

I would so rather have Biden than this rookie. I don’t think the media would cover for biden like they do obama. Biden would most definitely be defeated in 2012.

Journalism 101 - went down the memory hole.

I wanna know since when has Matt Lauer been considered a “reporter?” I remember his hard hitting interview with Britney Spears.

George Steftinystepenotinylpolus now there is an unbiased reporter.

Obama is a very uninspiring man. This is because he is a man without a history, or “gravitas” as the liberals liked to say of Bush. It is basically impossible for an unaccomplished man to inspire or lead because he himself is a follower. He follows only his own ambitions. These fiascos with his cabinet appointees, this Porkulus bill, attack on Rush, hints at protectionism, imposition on private business, softness toward Iran, and on and on show us that he is an empty suit. Blaming all his problems on Bush and the last 8 years will not carry him very far.

In 1993, Clinton had a severe meltdown where his lack of discipline, Hillary’s health care disaster, massive tax increase, nearly killed his presidency. Had it not been for the people voting the Republicans into power in ‘94, Clinton would have for sure been a one-termer. Obama is too naive to know it but the best chance to save him is for a conservative response to right his leftist ship and save the country before it’s too late. If Pelosi and Reid are still both in power in 3 years, Obama is a sure Carter part 2.
