It’s my understanding that the uncounted absentee ballots tend to come from the rural, more Republican counties. In other words, they held to stricter rules in rejecting ballots. Whereas Hennepin and Ramsay counties (Minneapolis and St. Paul) were much applied much looser standards in accepting ballots. This should benefit Coleman.

hope so- but people who are too “challenged” to punch a hole, draw an “x”, fill in a circle, or otherwise or fill out a ballot properly- seem to fit the Obama voter profile

Actually, it’s the suburban parts of this state that are more solidly Republican. A lot of rural areas are more liberal-leaning, especially in Northern Minnesota (and not just on the Range). This is a phenomena that seems to be unique to Minnesota, Wisconsin, and eastern Iowa.
