I didn;t see the broadcast but, from what was said here, it appears that he was just stating facts. Is he capable of being biased? Most certainly. But this doesn’t appear to be such an occasion.

Oh how I love the last line:

If Steele is Moses, doesn’t that make Obama the pharaoh?

It was the Democrats who blocked the Civil Rights Act. The Republicans pushed it through.

It's the Democrats who think that non-whites have such limited intelligence that they need extra points on many civil-service tests and need the racist boos of affirmative action.

This race road the democrats have started will end in bloodshed and further rip the US to shreads.

Very, very sad.

So sad that the Left always sees things through the lens of the color of skin. Michael Steele is an accomplished politician and person. I hope he will be the strong, Conservative voice that he’s always been. He’s a good choice, not just a Black Conservative.

Mr. Schieffer! what would you have the republicans do?

Clearly the black population fell for a hoax.

They believed the libs lies, and now they have enslaved themselves - they’ve allowed their fathers to leave their families thus ensuring a bleak future for the sons and daughters.

Once daddy left the house the government filled the gap.
Modern day slavery.

Republicans would still like to free the slaves, but the slaves appear to be happy where they are.

This coming from a shill for the Democrat Party - the proud home of Albert Gore, Sr., Orvall Faubus, George Wallace, Bull Connor, and Robert “Conscience of the Senate” Byrd (better known as "Sheets").

Leahy told us last night that if we weren’t in favor of Holder for AG, we were racist, supporters of slavery and the Dred Scot decision. It was just after 6PM Eastern, so my Senators had turned on their answering machines.

Spectre didn’t rebut the statement at all.

I say the ones who keep commenting on the race of people are the racists. Holder fails to impress me because of his actions, not his race.

When these idiot so-called pundits make statements like this, the GOP should demand that they be fired!

The REPUBLICANS became a party of white guys???

Holy Moly! How many ‘people of color’ did the Democrats have til the civil rights period???
How many KKK members do they have???

I don’t care if Byrd is now a FORMER ‘member’, he is a Democrat. They STILL believe what they always believe. -They only change the ‘packaging’ and ‘labeling’ in order to tidy up their public image for re-election.

If Schieffer didn’t say Republicans = racists, then it seems Dewayne Wickham’s column in USA Today certainly does.

Steele the right guy to pull GOP out of its nose dive

By DeWayne Wickham

Just when it seemed the Republican Party was rapidly descending into the political graveyard, a plunge that was hastened by Rush Limbaugh’s farcical grab at the party’s leadership reins, the GOP broke its fall by naming Michael Steele its chairman.

Steele, a former Maryland lieutenant governor, is a political moderate when measured against the right-wingers who put his party into a nose dive. He’s a pro-life, fiscal conservative on one hand, but he supports civil unions and affirmative action on the other. Yet it is his race, more than his positions on issues, that breathes new life into the Grand Old Party.

While the Democrats used a multiethnic, multiracial coalition to win the White House and strengthen its hold on both houses of Congress in last year’s election, the Republicans took on the look of a nearly all-white party at a time when this nation is becoming more diverse.
