Regarding "1984" by George Orwell, there are a few differences between the book and the movie.
In the movie, the people of Oceania all stand up together and cross their fists at the wrist whenever images of Big Brother appear. They also chant the letter "B" over and over again. Kind of like "O" over and over again. They do this as some twisted symbol of allegiance to him.
Note that a couple of the Proles are doing the symbol in these photos:

George Orwell was unfortunately right.
I can't wait until Obama's Secret Police forces go around arresting Conservatives for being "thought criminals."
