Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed Rick Perry for re-election, calling him the "true conservative" in a primary election showdown with fellow Republican Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Palin, who electrified the GOP base as the party's vice presidential nominee last year, has strong support among the party's social conservatives. Her endorsement appeared aimed at undercutting Hutchison's appeal with GOP women. Both groups will be important in picking the party's nominee in next year's Republican primary.
In a letter to "Texas Republican women" distributed by the Perry campaign, Palin touts the Texas governor's conservative credentials.
"He walks the walk of a true conservative. And he sticks by his guns and you know how I feel about guns," she said.
Palin cited one of the Perry campaign's top issues opposition to federal financial bailouts. And she singled out Perry's opposition to abortion rights.
"Not every child is born into ideal circumstances, but every life is sacred," Palin said in the mail appeal. "Rick Perry knows this it is at the core of his being."

Everybody I know is voting for him---even if not enthusiastically.
Here are the “jokes” that the buffoon said during the Alfalfa dinner..
-So, I called Governor Palin this morning, I said, “Sarah, it’s John, how would you like to go to the Alfalfa Dinner with me? (pause) McCain, John McCain.”
- President Obama is working hard to pass this stimulus bill, and after reading it, I’d say he’s actually being tri-partisan about this. As in, “I’ll try anything.”
- Wow, tough crowd. I feel like Goveror Paterson at the Kennedy Center Honors.
- Governor Palin, you look lovely. Just a heads up, Andrew Sullivan is outside telling everyone it’s really Bristol’s dress.
- And President Obama looks sharp as ever. If you look closely, though, you can see that the buttons on his jacket say “Click here to donate.”
- I’m really glad I scored an invite to this dinner. Rod Blagojevich offered me a ticket, but I told him, “I’m already a Senator.”
I didn’t hear anything he said. I heard Lieberman’s jokes and have to admit his were funny; Obama’s toward her went to prove she is really under his skin bigtime.
Palin is building a coalition of governors who will support her in 2012.
That is what this is about.
It’s crucial and she knows Kay ain’t in her wagon.
If Kay has her sights set on the Presidency, shes got to get through Sarah first

Please don’t misunderstand- I’m in no way supporting Hutchinson-—I’m for the Governor. But Hutchinson’s just the type of inside female politician that the Republican Establishment would love.
Current solar panels can never recoop their cost over the lifetime of the system
Can you imagine if Reagan had run during this internet age? His signature on that abortion bill — the signature he regretted from then forward, would have haunted him at every turn... and we would have been denied one of our greatest presidents ever.
So the energy savings can’t be recooped for tax payers?
Good point, that might be it.
Found it... have a feeling these numbers will quickly change thanks to the Cuda....
FREEPER TOUR TO ALASKA TO SEE GOV.PALIN.
How's that for a teaser !
And your other point is well taken. Maybe this will show her the true evil nature of her opponents.
I wonder what would have happened if Reagan had run against Obama, today, with the Internet and the kind of media we have now. Reagan, for fiscal responsibility against Obama, who is for Government controlling everything. We are up against a huge battle in 2012, especially if Obama’s porkulus package the way it is right now passes, why would anyone who gets free money for not having to work vote for someone(I don’t care if its Palin, Romney, whoever) who is for fiscal responsibility, they would not win.
Cant be recooped period.
Its a Gov boondogle paid for by joe taxpayer to make the kiddies feel good
Her ACU ratings:
2006 = 84
Lifetime = 90

Places her pretty much in the middle of all GOP Senators
Yes. True enough. But the hard core knew about it then. And that is why I said before that we trusted him even with that dreadful error. And why I think that because we trust SP she could overcome some errors and missteps either in her past or going forward. She is a good woman and a true conservative leader. But human.
Gov. Good hair (Perry) is as dumb as box of rocks, but Kay likes those suburban women who think a child is a “mistake”
KBH is a dead-center moderate. Perry is slightly to the right of her. Neither one of them belives in closing the border.
I have met Rick Perry. Of all the politicians I have ever met, from GWB to Mark White, Bill Clements, Ann Richards, Phil Gramm, and countless state and high-ranking military officials, Rick Perry is the biggest ass of them all. Anything that seems kind about Rick Perry is solely an act when the cameras are on. He is all about himself, no two ways about it.
That said, Perry is far and away better for the job than KBH, even if it’s a bit like choosing between Obama and McCain.
Gov. Good hair (Perry) is as dumb as box of rocks, but Kay likes those suburban women who think a child is a “mistake”
Yep. The Whitmans, McCains and all other Rino’s, will jump on her bandwagon in a flash.
Gov. Good hair (Perry) is as dumb as box of rocks, but Kay likes those suburban women who think a child is a mistake
And that is why Sarah would NEVER support Kay. She could never support someone who supports the murder of innocent babies. Sarah and Rick might not agree on everything, but Rich is Pro-Life therefore she supports him.
