The Court Decided not to Transcribe Them
Peones Negros Makes Public the Complete Acts of the 3/11 Trial
The court that judged the 3/11 case, presided by judge Gomez-Bermudez, decided that the minutes of the trial held on the massacre would not be written. Before this, a group of volunteers from the citizens group Peones Negros (Black Pawns) has transcribed the hundreds of hours of video recording of the sessions.
(Libertad Digital) Although it may sound unbelievable, the trial on the biggest terrorist attack in the History of Spain ended without a written transcription on what had happened in the different sessions. The court presided by the judge Gomez-Bermudez decided that it was not necessary to transcribe an act, since all the sessions had been recorded in video.
That decision, that from the legal point of view is irreproachable, raised, nevertheless, a problem: without a written act no one could search in a simple and fast way for data about what was talked in that courtroom of the Casa de Campo, where the trial took place, since reviewing hundreds of hours of recording is a superhuman task.
Before such facts, a group of volunteers integrated in the citizens group Peones Negros has done what the public powers of this country have not wanted to do: to completely transcribe the almost five hundred hours of recording in video of the different sessions. A year and a half they have taken in finishing a CD with the complete transcriptions of the trial, to which further documents regarding the instruction of the summary have been added.
Altogether, 40 volunteers have dedicated more than 5,000 working hours to draft an essential document for all who want to deepen in the investigations of the Madrid attacks. Or for all who simply want to keep memory from an historical event as it was the first of the trials of 3/11.
The CD, which will be presented in the next days by the Association 11-M Truth and Justice and by the Citizens Group Peones Negros, contains the acts of each one of the sessions of the trial, in pdf format. It also includes, a searching tool that allows locating in a matter of seconds any word or phrasing that is desired, within all the transcriptions.
Thus, for example, it is possible to quickly consult what witnesses told on the house of Morata de Tajuña and to jump directly to the concrete point of their respective testimonies. Every act includes the time, so the testimony in the original video recordings of the trial can be located in a simple way, available in Internet.

Good job, Peones Negros.
