TEHRAN (FNA) - Former US envoy to the UN John Bolton said Washington has suffered a humiliating defeat in its drive against Iran's nuclear activities.
In a Friday interview with BBC Persian, Bolton said Washington's efforts to curb Tehran's nuclear achievements have come to naught as Tehran has successfully managed to defend its national interests.
In my view, we lost the fight. Tehran has emerged the ultimate winner in maintaining its nuclear program, he added.
Bolton claimed that if Washington had settled on a military option against Iran's nuclear infrastructure beforehand, "the threat of Iranian nuclear weapons would not have existed in the world today."
The former US diplomat said that he seriously advises US President Barack Obama to opt for a military attack on Iran's uranium enrichment, should three months of direct negotiation with Iran prove to be a failure.

Nero prefers the fiddle.
Fear not. We have the Obamaloon, and he will truly save us.....NOT!
It’s pathetic that the mega-shrimp from Iran has already made a fool of the loon. Pathetic, but not unexpected.
Bolton keeps being right.
District of Corruption! I love it! Hadn't heard that one before but it's right on the mark.
Yep, seven years of opportunity to put Iran back to the stone age pissed away.
“District of Corruption”
VERY apt....should be used in the call for REFORM (coming elections)!!!
Ditto to that
Bolton/Palin 2012
How can you be defeated in something you never fought?
We weren't defeated, we let them win, Iran too.
Obama and the democrats are to blame for this.
The Rats have successfully destroyed the Bush initiatives
to do preemptive strikes.
Carter II in spades.
Let’s hope Israel will get the job done. Zerobama will still be at the table begging Imanutjob’s forgiveness for our former administration when the bomb goes off.....
Militant
Bolton is correct as usual. President Bush didn’t have the nerve to take care of Iran. As predicted and obvious, now the world is in dire straights. Israel will once again be the leader, and take care of the necessary business of dealing realistically with Iran. The dreamers, the talkers, will just get a lot of innocents killed. Israel will do what needs to be done. As B.Netanyahu said “Israel reserves the right to survive.”
What will the 0 do when (not if) an Iranian nuke goes off in Tel Aviv or Washington?
Assuming he survives, and setting aside the momentous question of direct military retaliation, he can probably dodge a lot of the blame by pointing out that most of the development occurred on Bush’s watch and the program was far advanced when the Obama administration took over.
If he is really smart, he will look the other way while Israeli survivors and/or American patriots settle accounts with the media beasts, business whores, and peace hypocrites who helped facilitate and shield Iran’s nuke program.
And for those late to the show, let’s not forget that it was our former President GWB who threw Bolton under the bus and turned State over to Condi the Piano Player and the rest of those Arab and Persian appeasing sumb!tches.
I wonder when the Left is going to agree with Amadinajackass like they did when he was trying to humiliate President Bush.
This bothers Bolton? That seems par for the course among nations.
