So, if his feet hadn’t been held to the fire by virtue of another chance to slop at the public trough he would not have bothered to fix the problem. What a crock. We could probably completely pay off the public debt if they just audited all the people in Congress.

If I could pass but one law in the whole world it would be that members of Congress have to live by the same laws the common folk do, period. No special retirement benefits, no special health care deals, no comp parking at the airport, etc. Every law/rule that my wife and I have to live by would be their burden too.

And by the way, I don’t see any mention of him paying a penalty for failing to file correctly in the first place. I had a run in with IRS some years ago and a $6,500 tax bill became over $27,000 with interest and the 100% penalty the added.

Geithner didn’t pay penalty and interest either. These RATS never do. They have no reason to fear the law. There is no downside to them to disobey the law. Laws are for the little guys and Republicans.
