When you get a mortgage on your house, does the bank have a say on how you spend your household budget?

If your balance sheet looks like these companies who took the money, then the only way you are going to get a loan is from the Mob, and yes, they are going to tell you how you are going to spend your money.

When the bank gives you a mortgage they ask only that you pay them first. If you fail to do so they take the house.

That's certainly a serious level of control.
