Folks, this does not bode well for the GOP. Whoever is elected MUST find his/her cajones real fast and stand against the socialist party in power.

Better than the first round ballot, which was reconfirming a man that failed miserably in the job.

From what I understand through my own research, Steele is pretty much a RINO. We would have been better off with Blackwell. In any event, I do agree that Duncan needs to go.

CSPAN is saying that Duncan has withdrawn his name for RNC chairman.

I could live with Michael Steele as chairman. However, I would prefer Ken Blackwell because of the cajones factor.

I thought I read they can make deals so Duncan’s votes can go to someone else.

CSPAN is saying that Duncan has withdrawn his name for RNC chairman.Does this mean Steele is the new Chair?

Blackwell was my choice. The only negative I’ve heard about Steele is he defended Holder, who is a friend of his.
I don’t know if that makes him a RINO, or just a loyal if misguided friend.
Duncan has to go. Moderates produce defeats.

Thanks for keeping us posted.

Ken Blackwell, without a doubt, has cajones and he would stand up for conservative values.
But, if you listen to some people, he’s not an impressive speaker. He doesn’t “inspire”. I personally don’t have a problem with him but I guess some people feel that we have someone who will be able to counter The 0 Factor in terms of speaking ability.

Duncan’s votes go to Katie D. from South Carolina. She is now ahead, but still not with 85 needed.

Too bad they can’t give it to two of them: Blackwell to actually run the show, and Steele to be the public face for the media.
We need a good speaker, sure. But most of all, we need an experienced, conservative political player, who knows how to get things done. The last one with those qualities was Haley Barbour.

This party. After taking a drubbing and being pilloried as an all white, regional party, the members are leaning toward Dawson, who is a southern white man with ties to an all-white country club. Just fabulous. We have so lost the communications battle in this country.
To: dware; Badeye
Katon Dawson is a male, conservative and ally of Sarah Palin.

Oops...guess I gotta lay off the beer. I’ve been cooking while trying to keep up with everything. Ever notice how everything tastes better when cooked in beer?

I have reservations about steele. He needs to do more for the party before he gets an RNC chairmanship.
