I read somewhere that the means of execution in Japan is a karate chop to the neck or some Judo hold that snaps the neck or something like that. Not sure if it’s still practiced.

Japan is one of the very few industrialized countries upholding capital punishment. The world's second largest economy after the United States faces regular international condemnation from human rights organizations like Amnesty International over prison conditions and its continued adherence to capital punishment.

Japan understands the concepts of justice and prevention.

In California, a death sentence means you will outlive the judge who sentenced you.

prisoners of death row are told of their upcoming death only in morning of their executions

This is much more humane than the American way. They are not left for years or months or weeks or days knowing that they will be executed on a certain unless they get a stay. Where stays come in a random manner weeks, days or minutes before the execution. I prefer we continue with the American, inhumane, way.

"prisoners of death row are told of their upcoming death only in morning of their executions, leaving them only hours to live"

No matter when they are informed they will have only hours to live on the morning of their execution.

You guys are so stupid and you don't care. No one on the left cares. You're all liars and morons.

Texas is way ahead. Recently read an article in the Austin American Statesman lib rag that El Paso is one of the top 4 safest cities in America. Right across the Rio Grande in Juarez - a city of about 2 million people - there were almost 1,600 murders last year! Holy $hit!

One of the major reasons for the dichotomy is that Texas has the death penalty. Very stark contrast in outcomes.

"Japan is one of the very few industrialized countries upholding capital punishment. The world's second largest economy after the United States faces regular international condemnation from human rights organizations like Amnesty International over prison conditions and its continued adherence to capital punishment."

Yet Amnesty says absolutely NOTHING about the murder that goes on in Islamic countries for "crimes" like pointing out Mohammad for being the murdering pedophile that he was. If a woman dare show a little ankle? bury her up to her neck and stone her to death. a regular "Friday night at the movies" community event.

Amnesty should shut up and go protest about the barbarism that exists in every single Islamic country, exposing the cult for what it is, is the only way this world is going to be able to eradicate it. Covering it up and calling it the "religion of peace", and allowing that book of hate, slavery, racism, and genocide to be practiced in the western world is the real crime in this world, not picking on civilized country who use execution after it's most notorious criminals are first convicted in a court of law by a jury of his peers, and sentenced to death for his crimes, which also acts as a deterrent for others who may think of committing the same crimes.

letting murderers go after a few years in jail to go and murder again is not a deterrent, it's a crime against civilized society.

I’ve always heard that El Paso is one of the more dangerous places, because of it’s proximity to Juarez. I don’t recall where the article was, but they talked about the number of kidnappings and murders in El Paso itself.

I wonder why the left keeps claiming that the USA is the only “civilized” country that still used the death penalty. Oh, that’s right, it’s because they’re liars.

And this is why Japan is a safer country than most that are industrialized. When I was there on business I never felt nervous or scared about being in a bad section - heck, the policemen didn’t even carry guns on them. If you have quick, swift punishment and suffer the consequences of your actions and are held accountable - it actually deters many people from committing crimes or behaving poorly - imagine that... I was taught that at a young age by my parents and it was called discipline - what an odd concept nowadays for American society...
