LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Well over a million people shivered in ice-bound homes across the country Wednesday, waiting for warmer weather and for utility crews to restring power lines brought down by a storm that killed 23 as it took a snowy, icy journey from the Southern Plains to the East Coast. But with temperatures plunging, utility officials warned that it could be mid-February before electricity is restored to some of the hardest-hit places.

I just fire up my diesel generator and watch my satellite TV. Life is pretty much the same whether we have power or not.
I asked on the other “cold” thread but no response yet.....have yall ever heard of freezing fog?
LOL.
If this were still on President Bush’s watch, the drumbeat of the angry media would already be pounding. Not a word from Obama; guess he’ll notice it after while.
I've heard of ice fog. Common in the interior regions.
Mine’s gas!!
Please define recently, and explain in more detail what you mean by 'vocal' and 'visible'.
Vocal and visible supporter: has news clippings supporting BO, goes around wearing BO buttons, talking about BO incessantly, tearing apart conservative candidates. Very vocal and visible.
Funniest thing I’ve seen in a long time!
LOL!!
Why does it have to be recent?
Anyways - that inauguration prayer by Lowery was a hoot wasn’t it nooby?
You do remember how the dem politicians screwed up Katrina and Bush was accused of racism because of it?
sheesh
Does Al Gore have power in his hometown carbon footprint?
I know, yes, those are people in the news. Good examples too. But I was thinking about someone you’d run into yourself, in everyday life.
I prefer diesel for several reasons. Diesels can run for days on end. Those small gas engines simply aren't up to the task. Diesel is also safer to store, having a higher flashpoint. I have no qualms about refueling my generator while it's running. I would never do that with a gas fired generator. Diesel fuel can also be stored much longer than gas before breaking down and gumming up the works.
oh I misunderstood the question - sorry!
I would say, no - but I have been cooped up alot with taking care of sick kids and bad weather.
When I do get around Obama supporters I avoid political talk.
The area I live in is majority white population.
Danged Global Warming.
” Where’s my flat screen TV?”
Some guy down in New Orleans hauled it off in a bath tub.
LOL-good one.
Not to worry friends - there were billions of dollars allocated w/in the “stimulus” plan to study this phenomenon dems have renamed “climate change...”
