your vote totals are wrong. It was ALL Republicans and eleven Democrats voting :”NAY.”

“Why do you call the nine turncoats? “

You are right. we dont know the reasons for their votes. In another comment, I said we needed to wait for the final vote to see. Fortunately, we got ZERO GOP supporters for the Democrat monster boondoggle deficit spending bill. I am well pleased with how the House GOP performed - a united front against the big-Govt socialism of Pelosi-Reid-Obama.

That’s a different vote. This thread is about the vote on the GOP alternative (voted down).

Yep, the insane ones, who post here and claim to be conservatives, but want to lose elections to the rats to teach us a lesson have a lot to be happy about as our nation teters on the edge of the abyss.

OK. I got it. How I got confused:

"$825 Billion in Spending & Tax Cuts: Vote on GOP Alternative Plan Fails (170-266)" posted on Jan 29.

"214-188 Vote - House Passes $819B Stimulus Bill," also on Jan 29.

"House Passes Stimulus Without GOP Support," also on Jan 29.

Bottom line is, "We're screwed." Who were the Repubs who voted "Nay" on the $825B GOP plan, and voted "Nay" on the Dem's $819 plan? Are they the same people?

“Conservatives will figure out sooner or later that the cowards we have in congress needs to be voted out. WE NEED FRESH FACES AND IDEAS IN CONGRESS!”

We should place a litmus test on our candidates.

1) Will you preserve conservative values?
2) Will you support term limits?

The GOP Alternative didn’t cost $825 million. The headline may have been confusing but the GOP plan was an ALTERNATIVE to the Dem 825 million plan that was being debated. It consisted of about 400 billion in tax cuts (the GOP plan.)

Yes and some Republicans obviously voted NO on both. (Because they ALL voted against the Dem plan)

Am I the only one curious about those totals? There are 435 voting members of congress - 255 Democrats, 178 Republicans, and 2 vacant seats. Yet according to this 439 members voted or abstained.
