Is that why PennDOT wastes time and sightlines with signs left out displaying the usual nanny-state twaddle such as "Please buckle up" and "Drive Safely?"

That's better than the ones in NJ that often read "Sign Test" One would think any message about the road conditions ahead would also be adequate for a "sign test".

“Lane closed for your convenience” -don’t remember where I saw that sign, but it sure was infuriating.
