Why do you assume it is Rushs responsibility to keep a Republican Conservative in alive in the Primaries? Do you not think that sole responsibility should fall to the candidate himself?
Well in that case, why should anyone support ANY primary candidate then? It is my belief that if Rush was (and in fact did) going to get involved in primary contests, the contests he should have been involved with are the REPUBLICAN primaries, and being a conservative, he could have been promoting the candidacies of conservative GOP candidates, instead of p*ssing about in the 'Rat primaries for the sole purpose of trying to create 'chaos'.
Rush had a God-given opportunity to effect a positive change in the Republican primaries, instead: he wasted that opportunity with the political equivalent of throwing eggs and rolls of toilet paper at the 'Rat primary contests.
And we can all see what that got us.

The problem is not Rush believe me...a lot of blame can be laid at the wacky primary process. Open primaries are a joke. But more to the point....I don’t care what Rush would have done to promote Fred Thompson, the truth is the man just was not in it to win it. He was a dud from the word go, lacked conviction, lacked energy and I really believe he did not want it. There was no other Conservative candidate in the hunt. So to take Rush to the woodshed is just shortsighted in my opinion.

It is incredible how on one hand you want to dismiss Rush as being a negative force in the conservative movement but then on the other hand you lay so much importance on his words and actions in regards to primary politics for conservatives.
You really want to have your cake and eat it too. And of course you want Rush to be responsible for getting it all for you. Unbelievable.

But since I dissed you abit in my last response I will add here that I do think that you make some very good points as well.
We do need to get our own primary right and that is what we should be active about before worrying about the other sides primary.
