I've maintained that the Dem majority congress and Obama won't be stupid/crazy enough to attempt to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, but Obama's public war on conservative talk radio these past few days is getting me to reconsider that position. One thing's certain -- if they are that stupid there'll be the biggest voter backlash we've ever seen, with the GOP taking back the House and perhaps evening the score in the Senate in the midterm elections.

I am wondering how the democrats plan to pull off not having a backlash against them considering that almost every policy that they seek is extreme and anti-freedom from AGW legislation, to massive welfare and spending, to terrorist rights, to gay rights, etc....

They have a very radical platform as a political party that is very anti-freedom and they know it even.

Obama is starting a long, but focused campaign to eliminate dissent from the airwaves. He has at least four years of unrelenting pressure to get it done.

He’s picked his first target, now will come more and more negative chanting from the top (government/MSM) and next will be the bottom, rock DJs, cartoonists, columnists, until it seems the whole country has changed.

Then when the first Fairness Doctrine, Local Content, and innocuous Hate Crimes bills come up, many will breathe a sigh of relief that finally, someone is keeping us safe from these extremists.

Or maybe there will be a horrible event and everyone will blame talk radio, like OKC but better coordinated in the media.

Rush has friends and a microphone, Obama has friends and real power. I would not misunderestimate either, and I’d root for Rush to win, but this is too serious a threat to laugh off.

I think the Democrats are counting on the recession being over by election season 2010, which they figure will mitigate any outrage the electorate feels about the implementation of their radical socialist agenda.

By telling anyone to "stop listening", Obama is directly interfering with the livelihood of a private citizen and is breaking the law.

A hefty civil suit against Barry should drag out about 4 years.
