Even Socialist Sanders voted nay. We lost Corker, Cornyn, Crapo, Ensign, Graham, Gregg, Hatch, Shelby, Snowe and Voinovich. There's no surprise with the last two or Graham. Bond didn't vote. Geithner didn't pay his taxes, but he's confirmed as the Secretary of the Treasury. This is nuts. If they confirm Holder, I have no hope.
I am fairly convinced that there’s some game that is played with controversial votes where the “establishment” wants it to go a certain way. The Democrats and Republicans take turns being the one to make the “right” or popular choice, while the others shift their votes around so the establishment choice prevails. For example, next time Sanders the Socialist will be with the majority while Shelby will be voting no.
