I have no time to elaborate at the moment but, suffice it to say that the NHS -- and the whole concept of socialized medicine -- is appalling and should never be implemented anywhere.

I can relate. I have several personal observations of the NHS, including two where the patient(s) died needlessly. Another thing NHS advocates won't discuss is how no one is EVER held accountable for mistakes or even outright malpractice. I think malpractice is out of control in the USA but having no recourse against dilettante physicians isn't the answer either.
