It reads over 100 TONS of Trash, (merchandise left, porta potties tipped over)

“Over one hundred tons of trash have been collected by clean up crews following Barack Obama’s historic inauguration Tuesday. Both Federal and District of Columbia sanitation workers - over 300 in total - have been working diligently this week removing the record amount of garbage left behind by the record setting crowd on the National Mall and surrounding areas in downtown Washington DC.

Refuse ranging from plastic bottles, wrappers and containers to blankets, sleeping bags and full on lawn chairs and chaise lounges littered the area in the wake of the inauguration. But the largest offenders were vendors who reportedly left behind piles of garbage and even merchandise, presumably after every one left and there was nobody left to sell to.”
