Embattled House Speaker Salvatore F. DiMasi said in an interview this afternoon that he will resign from the Legislature on Tuesday, saying he is proud of his record and is leaving with his ''head high.'' DiMasi, who has endured public scrutiny because of influence-peddling allegations involving close his friends, was sending a letter to his House colleagues tonight informing them of his decision.

This clown(D) is the Speakah of the House in Mass.
And on the same weekend that hack Senator Wilkerson(D)admits to taking 70g in bribes.
All while the clueless gov(D) contemplates a gas tax hike or a toll hike.
Change You (Dupes) Can Believe In.

Unless there is an “R” after the name, the MSM will never deface one of their own.

Oh nh, you forgot so many!! Even recent! They passed quite a few laws during closed congress, one on New Years Eve no less, WITHOUT A QUORUM, only 2 and 3 people present, who just happen to agree there was a quorum. TOTALLY Unconstitutional.
This in the state that demanded gay marriage and refused to let a constitutionally sound referendum be voted on. These people make Chicago look like child's play!

I didn't see his party affiliation mentioned in the excerpt provided. For once, I'm not going to complain. This is the Massachusetts House of Reps. Of 160 legislators, 143 are Democrats. The question of party loyalty is somewhat superfluous in a one party state.

No mention of party affiliation in title, sub-title, first sentence, or first paragraph. Therefore I can stop reading, he is a democrat.

Robert A. DeLeo, a Winthrop Democrat, and Rogers, a Norwood DemocratBoth are considered somewhat anti-abortion and DeLeo was somewhat anti-gay-marriage but Rogers is an infamous turncoat on that issue.
I fear a 3rd ("progressive") candidate will come and take the prize. But this could be very good news in a state which is usually more or less run by the Speaker of the House.
