Thanks for your kind words.
The wedding was at Trinity United Methodist Church and the reception was in the gardens at Ships of the Sea Museum.
Savannah became our daughter’s favorite city when she was in college in Statesboro, GA. She had moved to NYC after college, met her future husband there, and when they decided to get married they came to Savannah to look at sites. She had told us years ago that when she married she wanted it to be in Savannah.
He fell in love with Savannah and they were married there almost two years ago. They now live in Atlanta and are expecting their first baby in August.
He is from NJ but loves the south. She lived in NYC almost 5 years but is glad to be back south too.
About three years ago my wife and I thought of buying one of the old places in the old part of town.
Checked out a bunch of open houses and found that one in bad shape costs about a million.
Holes between the walls and windows. I inquired about repairs and was told there are so many cultural and preservation type committees to get through it was crazy.
NO paint colors on the place unless available in era. No new type windows, no this no that. I said the heck with it and bought where I am now. Still on 4th of July we get a place on the water with a view of the fireworks and enjoy the Shrimp Factory and walk. Man do we walk a lot and is it ever HOT.
Regards, and congratulations.
