WASHINGTON – Republicans appear to have overplayed their hand when blocking the expansion of a children's health care program last year.

They face the likelihood that Democrats in the coming weeks will pass a bill that they dislike even more.

With more Democrats in Congress and President Barack Obama in the White House, GOP lawmakers don't have the numbers or a veto threat to do anything about it.

The Senate planned to begin debate as early as Monday on a bill that would increase spending on the State Children's Health Insurance Program by $31.5 billion over the next 4 1/2 years.

Congress approved a similar bill in late 2007 that former President George W. Bush vetoed. The House fell about 15 votes shy of overriding the veto. But the current legislation contains some important changes. [snip]

KEYWORDS: illegals; socialism; voterbase; votes
More socialism and vote-buying welfare. Illegals? Of course. The aura of socialism is working hard to build a voting and dependency base that cannot be broken. Note that AP did not mention WHY BUSH VETOED the original bill --- it was so LOADED WITH LIBERAL PORK that it was not acceptable. Just another step toward controlling medical care (socialized medicine) and your life. Giving America and your tax dollars away for power.

The first line is so much garganzola. The Democrats want to expand the SCHIP program, period, with the ultimate goal of eventually socializing the whole medical system.

Had President Bush signed the previous bill, they’d be back for even more this time.

I’m sure there will be plenty of republican support in the senate anyhow.

It’s giving away tax dollars true, and not only giving them to the poor, but giving them to the middle class. Pence was on Beck’s show the other night. I think his figures were that a family of four, making $65,000 would still qualify for SCHIP.

Exactly — and the whole socialist game is to push the middle class OUT OF COMMERCIAL MEDICINE and into SOCIALIZED GOVERNMENT-MANAGED MEDICINCE. The reason Bush vetoed the bill was because the scumbag Dims basically added the middle class to the bill (at the last moment) which originally was supposed to be for ONLY KIDS.

Scummy bastard socialists.
