I think Cornyn is doing pretty well, unlike many “girly-men” Republicans in Congress.
“...some Republican Senate colleagues want less partisanship and more collaboration. As Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., put it: “The message that the American people are sending us now is that they want us to work together and get to work.”
Cornyn said he put the “hold” on Holder’s confirmation to win a commitment that he would not press prosecutions against anyone who used harsh interrogation techniques during the Bush administration.”

Relatively speaking, yes. But I want a principled conservative. Not a “relatively” conservative. Comparing him to McStain and his ilk is, quite frankly, settling for a very low standard.

Isn’t that exactly what I said in my post? NOT ENOUGH. Give me a break. Do you really expect devious scum like Clintoon and Holder to honor such “commitments”? Look Holder is wrong for AG on so many issues — gun control, to name a HUGE one — and, what’s more, he’s a criminal (ref. Clintoon era pardons). Cornyn shouldn’t be playing footsie with this bum, he should be OPPOSING HIM in no uncertain terms, with fire in his belly.
“Cornyn said he put the hold on Holders confirmation to win a commitment that he would not press prosecutions against anyone who used harsh interrogation techniques during the Bush administration.
I guess he doesen’t care about all the Texans that will be furious when Holder starts pursuing his gun grabbin’ agenda!
