Thanks. Obama had to know there was some effect of O.C. after Texas, Ohio, Pennsylvania, W.Va and to some extent Indiana. Plus Obama probably likes the idea of an 'idealogical' spar (he's really still a college kid, like most liberals ;-). He likes to be right and Rush is proving him wrong on a daily basis. That must not sit well with him. Imagine what making him look like a total fool will get.
As far as "growing opposition", you mean beyond Free Republic right ;-) Don't know. Many Dems are feeling froggy right now and with good reason. As I've pointed out much earlier during the primary, the only 'malleable' faction of the Dem whole is the labor rank and file. Labor leaders, "intellectuals", professors, college kids, econazis are not going to change. Enough stuff like Reich's "no whites need apply" on infastructure projects and labor may be clinging to their guns and religion and actually - some for the first time - will be having racial and xenophobic thoughts. That's what affirmative action does. That and the 'labor card' issue which many don't want. But perhaps there will be a 'silent majority' that wakes up. I'm not holding my breath - too much gov't school propaganda to break through that. IOW, we're on our own ;-) but remember that the 'ragtag rebels' were not a majority in 1776 - most of the population were still loyalists.
