“You can’t just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done,” he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.
One White House official confirmed the comment but said he was simply trying to make a larger point about bipartisan efforts.

Rush Limbaugh's ratings will go off the Richter scale ... Rushbo is loving this, it doesn't get any better.

"There was agreement that we must act quickly to stimulate the economy, create jobs, put money back in people’s pockets.”

Sadly, this is probably true even though the Keynsian stuff won't work.

The problem, besides Obama’s unlimited arrogance, is that the Republican elites will actually fall for Obama’s edict, and continue to act as weak Democrats and RINOs rather than principled conservatives.

President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

So why would anybody want to "get along" with the communist, liberal, democrat socialist, marxist, scumbags?

I listen to Rush because I can't get anything resembling the truth from 95% of the media. He sits in solidly in the other 5%.

Monday is going to be fun day.

Obama had a moose in his shorts with Palin, now he has another problem and it won’t fit in his shorts. This poor little ‘dummer has a glass jaw.

Obama acknowledged that $825 billion was a tough price tag for some conservatives and deficit hawks to swallow.

Well, DUH. Perhaps since the last $750 billion didn't do squat for the economy, people are a bit more skeptical this time around (as if they weren't skeptical last time - something like 80% were against the first bailout).

OBAMA’S GOING TO LOOSE...

Finally, somebody spells "loose" properly on the internet. Unfortunately, it is in a context where "lose" would instead be appropriate.

:-)

“There are big things that unify Republicans and Democrats,”

No, not really. The Dems have spent most of the last 8 years reminding me that they are right out of their minds. And that they had no intention of finding common ground with me.

Once they found their footing after the 2000 elections, they used every tool they had to fight and delay and obstruct the GOP. Even when they didn't have a majority, they used every procedural tool they had to tie Bush and the Repubs down; we were forced to give ground on almost every issue. In many cases we wound up implementing their agenda, rather than our own.

They know how to fight, and its high time we learned also. We shouldn't be sending people to Washington who want to find common cause with the Democrats. Learn one thing from them, and one thing only, and that is to fight every step of the way for your agenda. Don't give up on it even when you are in the minority. They didn't, and we shouldn't.

“Obama Says His View on Taxes Prevailed Because ‘I Won’”

By Major Garrett
FOXNews.com
Friday, January 23, 2009

SNIPPET: “Obama invoked conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh in a discussion about the danger of allowing partisan differences block progress on the stimulus bill, which currently costs $825 billion.

Obama explained that lawmakers were closer together than the public realized on the stimulus package but warned of pitfalls if Congress and the White House don’t work together. Again, according to participants in the meeting, Obama said this about rising above typical partisan differences: “We’re all political animals, we’ve all got political bases,” the president is reported to have said. “If we don’t get this done we (the Democrats) could lose seats and I could lose re-election. But we can’t let people like Rush Limbaugh stall this. That’s how things don’t get done in this town.””

“There are far too many people in certain high paces that won’t have his back, but will look out for the people of this nation.”

Oh really? Who might that be exactly?

“I won,” he said, according to aides who were briefed on the meeting. “I will trump you on that.”

Note to Republicans. This is how people who win elections are supposed to act. Remember that the next time you're asked to "reach across the aisle" (hopefully in 2010).

“Exactly what is in that stimulus package and when do we the people get to see the details?”
