He was no conservative.
He damaged his party and his country through his lack of political party leadership and unwillingness to play hardball.
He was wrong on a variety of important issues, such as CFR, spending and immigration.
But there were things about him that counteract those faults, in my opinion. He was an honorable, decent, principled, ethical, patriotic man. I thought he was a great wartime President, and the fact that a wide majority of the Military community thinks very highly of him speaks volumes to me.
Watching this video, I was struck again by the class, humanity and decency of this man and his family, because if he wasn't the man he was, and he and his mate weren't the parents they are, this classy and kind video would have never been made. It brought tears to my eyes.
He made me feel as safe as an American could feel over the last seven years following 9/11.
History will be kind to him, someday.
I miss him already. Godspeed, Mr. President, and Thank You.
